Your workspace is installed and you’ve signed in as its only admin. It’s empty, apart from a small starter kit. This page covers the first hour: what to connect, and where.

The Getting started card

Your Dashboard opens with a Getting started card. It lists five things, each with a button that takes you to the right screen. A row ticks itself the moment the thing exists, so you never mark anything done by hand. Do them in any order, and skip what you don’t need. Only admins see the card. Once every row except WhatsApp is ticked, a Hide button appears. Hiding it only affects your own browser.

Voice

Paste your Retell API key into Settings → Connections. Nudge then lists the agents in your Retell account under Channels → Voice agent. Give an agent a phone number and it can call your contacts. See AI voice calls.

Email

Email to your contacts goes out through your own Resend account, from a domain you’ve verified there. Nudge’s own address only sends your team’s invites and alerts. Add the Resend key in Settings → Connections, then your sending address in Channels → Emails. The full walk-through is Connect email (Resend).

WhatsApp

Optional. On your own backend, WhatsApp runs on the official API through your own Meta app. It takes the longest to set up, so leave it for later if calls and email are enough to start. See WhatsApp.

Contacts

A form on your website, a CSV file in Bulk Action, or the API from your own systems. See Bring your contacts in for which one to use. New contacts start your automations, so read the next section before you import a list.

Your team

Invite the people who’ll work your leads from Contact owners. They sign in with Google, using the address you invited. Add a second admin early, so the workspace doesn’t depend on one Google account. See Users and roles.

The starter kit

The install adds a few things so your first agent has somewhere to land. All of it is yours to change or delete.
  • Contact statuses: New, Contacted, Interested, Not reachable, Won and Not interested. Rename them or add your own under Workspace setup → Fields.
  • Two email templates: Welcome (“thanks for getting in touch”) and Sorry we missed you (after a call nobody picked up). Find them under Templates, tagged Starter kit.
  • Two automations, both off: Welcome new contacts emails a new contact the Welcome template. Missed call follow-up emails Sorry we missed you after a missed call and marks the contact Not reachable, but only for someone nobody has qualified yet. See Triggers.
  • A Messages journey on Triggers → Journeys, with both automations filed on it.
The two automations stay off until you switch them on. Do that after your email sender is in, and check the template wording first: it goes out under your name. If you’re about to import an old list, keep Welcome new contacts off until the import is done, or everyone in the file gets the welcome email.

If a banner says Nudge can’t reach your backend

Nudge keeps your workspace up to date with the key you gave it when you connected Convex. If that key stops working (revoked, or the project deleted or switched off), Nudge can’t install updates any more, and within a day your admins see a banner: Nudge can’t reach your backend to update it. Your workspace keeps running on the version it has. Press Reconnect on the banner. It opens the setup page, where Connect Convex again gives Nudge a new key to the same project. Nothing is reinstalled and nothing is lost. See Connect Convex. Next: Connect email (Resend).
